Like any other parent having a young child, my worries are beginning to rise as my son has access to media, music, cartoons, games, entertainment and education that is either in a foreign language or it’s localized in an incorrect way. While it is great to access English, Spanish and French content, there has been a big gap when we talk about Urdu content, especially in interactive education, games, cartoons, stories and edu-tainment apps. Finally RIM has revealed the Playbook availability date. This is what BlackBerry’s Facebook status says today:
Don’t like waiting in line? Pre-order the PlayBook and it’s guaranteed to be yours on April 19! Head to Best Buy (U.S.) – http://tlk.tc/LV0 – or Best Buy Canada – http://tlk.tc/KV0 – to place your order today.
If you have not used a tablet before, its about time to start using a good one to begin with.
If you are an iPad user and you usually feel left out due to Flash sites breaking up when you visit them on browser, you should upgrade to Playbook instantly. See this comparison between the iPad and Playbook web experience.
This video demonstrate the use of flash and rich content rendering on RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry Playbook and compares it to the iPad’s Safari browser. If you are looking forward to buy a new tablet, Playbook is definitely one of the alternate option for you. The video also gives a clear idea of the size of the two tablets. If you are looking for a smaller alternative of iPad, Playbook or the Samsung Galaxy tab are the options to look at.

Well this is pretty much following Apple’s footstep and launching a 7 inch tablet is really not very innovative but its a cool addition to the available tablet options. This is a very moderate start to announced the launch a very exciting product actually. BlackBerry lovers around the world are excited at the launch and we see some serious competition in the tablet market now.
It’s not only the devices but the BlackBerry tablet OS is also a big announcement at the BlackBerry Devcon in San Francisco today and those who’ve seen it are going crazy I can tell you.
The unveiling video clearly shows the camera capability, multi-tasking, flash in the browser and several other features that are definitely winning against the iPad. Though they are not the first ones to launch the lovable tablet, I’m sure they will definitely grab some market.
Features that really make me go WOW include the HDMI video output for presentations, movies and browsing, full 1080p video playback capability, dual camera for video and still photos and a dual core 1 GHz processor.
I’m sharing here some more specs of the product but if the specs are not enough to impress you, you can scroll down to the bottom of the post to see the unveiling video of the new, dashing BlackBerry Playbook tablet.
Following are the key features and specifications of the BlackBerry PlayBook:
