Windows 7 mobile is creating news everywhere. Mobilink today has announced HTC HD-7 and it is exclusively available on Mobilink. The phone has quite good specs and what’s new is … errrrm… Windows 7. You can get this great phone from Mobilink office for Rs. 55,999. You can get detailed specs of the phone here.
- Unlike Nokia, its battery is locked inside, you cant remove it (that easily)
- Unlike Nokia, (well unlike most of them) its running pretty fast and pretty smooth out of the box
- Unlike Nokia, it’s lightweight and good looking.
- It has a large camera sensor and a very slim Xenon flash
At least I wasn’t expecting above in the box for me 🙂
I’ll be posting more about it from now on, so stay tuned 😉
BlackBerry Bold 9780 is a younger brother of BlackBerry 9700 who’s just a little more fashionable than 9700 and we know 9700 very well. Just got hold of a 9780 and it’s as cool as a 9700, seriously. What makes it more cool is the OS 6 and its doing a great job with the new OS despite the fact it does not have a touch screen like Torch 9800.
There are only two main differences between BlackBerry 9780 Bold and 9700 Bold.
- BlackBerry 9780 has a 5 megapixel camera as compared to 3.2 megapixel cameara on Bold 9700.
- And the bigger difference is, 9780 has OS 6.
In cas you are planning to upgrade your 9700, then 9780 is definitely not the choice. If you are planning to get a new 9700, better get a 9780. For existing 9700 users, BlackBerry 9800 torch is a much better choice. And in case you are highly tempted to use OS 6 on your BlackBerry and own an 9700, better flash your OS to version 6 and enjoy having a 9780, well almost 🙂 . You can read this post on how to upgrade to OS 6 on BlackBerry 9700.
Here are a few more shots of the 9780 which has the same big 1500 Mah battery as Bold 9700.
I just got hold of these two devices. A BlackBerry Bold 9700 running OS 5 and a BlackBerry Torch running OS 6. Apparently both devices do not have a difference in processing power but the operating system boot up time looks drastically improved for OS version 6.
One of the thing that has always been irritating me has been the time a BlackBerry takes to boot. Any other phone does not take that long but things are eventually changing and the new OS has done some work to improve the boot up speed.

If you are carrying a BlackBerry Bold 9700, and want to upgrade to OS 6, the first leaked version is available now. WillyBoy6 on CrackBerry forums has posted the steps, download links and then the whole world starts talking about it.
If you end up upgrading to OS6 successfully, the only difference between your 9700 and 9780 will be the camera.
Here is the source, enjoy!

Have you been waiting for Nokia N8, the next big phone by Nokia in a long long time? Yes I want that 12 megapixel camera, yes I want that 720p HD widescreen recording and the HDMI output, yes I need the Symbian ^3 and the wait is over. You can order your N8 now from Ufone (obviously within Pakistan).
The details are that Nokia and Ufone have decided to launch the phone at a special price. I’m not sure when the phone will be available in market but it is available now pre-order for Rs. 42000. ( USD 487 or 350 Euro). You’ll not get the phone right away. You pay Rs. 5000 for booking and as soon as it arrives, you’ll get one (apparently around 15th October). Moreover, this is announced as a special discounted Ufone+Nokia launch price which is even less than the announced price of EUR 380+.
If you can’t wait to see this device, just visit your nearest Ufone customer care center.See this link for more details and a list of service centers where the phone is available for you to check out.
I’ve been dieing to get my hands on to OS 6 on my Bold 9700 and here’s a video by boygenius that shows OS 6 running on a BlackBerry Bold 9700. The OS is much more snappier and quicker on 9700 than on a torch according to this video. The video shows how the new BB browser works and how the new camera interface is different from the OS 5.x.
Steve Jobs in his press conference defending iPhone 4’s antenna fault displayed 3 different phones including a BlackBerry Bold 9700 showing a drop in signal when holding the phone in such a way that the hand was touching the metal ring around the phone. Well that’s the most obvious way of holding the phone anyways. I’ve been trying to regenerate the signal drop issue on different networks, different areas of the city and even different different BlackBerry phones and I’ve failed to regenerate the signal drop situation. The only thing that’s missing in my area is an AT&T network :p
See following video in which I’ve tried to hold tight my BlackBerry 9700 Bold and not a single bar drop of signal.
